always keep fiat on hand in case bitcoin drops below 6000, better option than to sell existing btc, and trying and rebuy in case its a bear trap

How do you recommend managing our stop losses when it's also recommended to keep the majority of our holdings off exchanges?
James G (3 months ago)
Don’t set your stop loss right at the support. Set it below everyone else’s incase they cause it to bounce.

Unfortunately the bulk of my investments were when BTC was around 9500, so selling out rn is not an option I have no choice but to HODL bc im not going to take a 2 grand loss. Best believe if BTC drops under 6k I will buy it up though.

B, isnt that what we all want? A decentralize system.
Steven Lipke (3 months ago)
Be warned, at no point have you, and many others, included respective countries Capital Gains implications on each and every crypto trade; and thus HODL for greater than a year may have significantly less pain (both in the pocket and brain) when tax time rolls around. ... unless you are seriously doing crypto trading as a pseudo day job; HODL is an optimal time versus effort strategy. ... With that said, there is some merit in selling out of a particular crypto, to deliberately take a tax recordable loss, to reinvest the returns into another crypto which you believe will rise significantly more than that particular crypto.

Love stop losses. Wish the Coinbase app had one. Everything I buy shows up a week later, and is down $50 - $100 from where I bought.

B you can't just ignore the 6th February wick, just to draw a descending triangle. The wick was clearly below that. It's not a descending triangle. We're looking at a symmetrical triangle (ST). Within a ST we have higher lows, and lower highs and it is characterised by the declining volume. The declining volume is is normal for an ST and supports this being an ST rather than a descending triangle. We will know when we have a successful breakthrough when we burst out of this ST with convincing volume.

Too many coins. I'll hodl and buy the dips. It's worked for me in the stock market.
Crypto Time (3 months ago)
And that's the reason market is on red because people take loses and and jump out for no reason!
Tim Martin (3 months ago)
Actually, it's ok to sell... if you do it at the right time. Buying back in after it drops works. I bought 10 LTC whent was $200. I now have 14.2 LTC w/ out spending a dime more. Yes im still under water with my $2000 investment...but now LTC only needs to get to $140 to break even instead of $200. USDTether is a WONDERFUL thing for the short term dips.
JDoldschool13 (3 months ago)
I just HODL, and on another dip I put more fiat, and another dip more fiat, and another dip more fiat, and so on. Because I believe in crypto. A lot. HODLGANG
Craig Neeve (3 months ago)
your strategy is less stressful
Zunaid Shaikh (3 months ago)
Yep i do the same hodl for life
paul lindsay (3 months ago)
I do the same. I only sell coins when they are on a big run. Then I buy back for more. Or if it keeps going, oh well. I made profits. I don't sell when I'm down.
Crypto Time (3 months ago)
JDoldschool13 Exactly, I do the same!
Crypto Time (3 months ago)
B you lose when you sell, so hodl!
Dan Rickard (3 months ago)
It depends where you bought in. I imagine Bee has been in a lot longer than I have, and may have bought in at $5k. So he’s still profiting from those sales long term, and minimising further losses. If you bought at $10, then by all means hold on for dear life. Especially if you can afford not to have that money as cash.
Sahba Zeller (3 months ago)
yeah like they did when btc went from 20k to 15k? or from 15k to 10k? when you bought anything in january without a plan and stop loss then you are now at least -60%, some of these coins will never again reach ath if they are just hype coins but if u have enough money then go one :) I prefer to buy back when it is way lower ^^ but ok right now is a pretty good time to buy, i think here i wouldn't use stop loss even when we go down to 4/5k but this is a completely different situation than when we reached 20k with this parabolic rise, it was obvious that sooner or later we would dump hard
Andre v d ende (3 months ago)
Smart money will kill u.They will get al the stop losses out of the market, and bounce it up again.U lose.
Sahba Zeller (3 months ago)
yeah its better to hodl from 20k until 6k and below instead of setting stop loss at 17k or sth like this and then buying back later when it is way down loool hodlers and bottom buyers think they are the smartest but the truth is they are just bagholders :)

The miners are interested in finding a nonce which will create a hash with certain characteristics. Lastly, they have to find a random value that they included in the header, which makes the computed hash over that header a value below a particular target. In other words, they do not have to agree to change the protocol. Though there are a few gold diggers attempting to fill their pockets and certain projects that aren`t viable and shouldn`t be encouraged in any way. For users running a complete node, it is a fairly painless procedure to upgrade the software to the newest version. The process of locating a new block to extend the blockchain is known as mining. Proof-of-Work systems utilize cryptographic hashing algorithms to create the action of mining a block a complicated computation. Our software is totally incompatible with altcoins. Changes and modifications to how that it works need to be approved by consensus and every CPU gets a vote. To start with, it`s essential to realize that hardware wallet users control entirely their private keys. Whether you`re bullish or bearish on Bitcoin Gold, you ought not lose your coins as a result of careless mistakes! On the 1 hand, it may result in making a coin that solves all the pending issues. There`s no currency or digital asset named Bitcoin Core. Bitcoin Cash increases the range of transactions that may be processed per block. You could send any quantity of money, any place in the Earth, almost at no cost. You`ve made some great money already on the market, but you want more. For a wealthy individual, BTC`s price premium may be viewed as a plus. For someone without lots of money, BCH`s low price may look like a great deal for Bitcoin. If you have some concerns about the worth of Bitcoin after all forks, you need to be ready for a drop. The distinction is that not all of these suffer the chain split. The primary problem is Bitcoin imposes a hard limit on the magnitude of a block, the location where transaction information becomes stored. The end result is many straightforward wallets, called SPV wallets and very commonly found on your phone, will be quite confused about which chain is Bitcoin. In Bitcoin, the most important reason is known as the network effect.
