If I understand the platform properly, it is a decentralized app that rests in the web browser and the computer drive. A sort of virtual wallet that assures the safety of crypto from hacking. If one reformats the computer, the DEX must be reactivated just like a wallet would with a backup and the 12-word key and a password, I prefer a 600bit+ encryption key. Is this the correct viewpoint, Chronos? Love the name BTW. I can tell you are a special being.
Chronos Crypto (1 month ago)
You're pretty close. The DEX is what we call the decentralized exchange that runs on the Bitshares blockchain. Glad you like my name. :)
Thanks Mate. This helped me to recover my funds, which I mistakenly thought were lost forever.

OPEN.BTC is OpenLedger’s asset pegged to BTC. You could probably either withdraw it to a BTC address by using their gateway, or trade it for BTS on the Bitshares DEX. After you have the BTS or BTC then you could deposit it to Binance, I think. Good luck!
Now I'm trying to move open.BTC off of wallet.bitshares.org back to Binance as BTS. LOL. You have a vid on that? Thanks.

Right on! Glad this was useful to you.

Can i send bitusd to bitshare wallet?
Gianpiero Zanca (6 months ago)
Hello, it is possible to send usd money on bts? and how? please
Chronos Crypto (6 months ago)
OpenLedger is a company that provides services with the Bitshares blockchain. For more information about Gateways, see https://youtu.be/Cynr6zDTCBI
Gianpiero Zanca (6 months ago)
Thanks....I did not understand something... If I want to deposit coins it ask from open ledger but what is that? And also a gateway what is? Thanks very much
Chronos Crypto (6 months ago)
BTS has a token that tracks the value of USD. It's called BitUSD. That's the closest you can get to sending "actual money" on the platform. If you want to buy it with your USD, it will probably be easiest to buy bitcoin first, then exchange it.

Very outdated. Does not look like this anymore

Things have changed since video now it seems its on the cloud and it gives you a long alpha numeric password that it generates My question is it secure and safe or do I somehow try to figure out how to make a local wallet?
Chronos Crypto (9 months ago)
You're right, cloud accounts have been added since this video was produced. They should also be safe from theft, if you keep your alphanumeric string stored safely and securely. Great question!

Thanks for this informative video. I have about $400 worth of Bitshares in my Bittrex account. This coin got delisted in October, without my knowledge, but it still shows up in my account (I can't buy or sell it because it seems to be inactive). Before I go through the trouble of creating a Bitshares wallet, do you know if it's still possible to transfer my Bitshares from Bittrex to a desktop wallet? I really hope that I didn't lose this money. Bittrex didn't even have the decency of sending me an email to warn me.
Red Pill Rage (9 months ago)
*+darthclone 2002* Apologies. I meant to type "Bittrex". Just corrected it.
darthclone2002 (9 months ago)
Why would Bitshares have to warn you on a Bittrex action?
Red Pill Rage (9 months ago)
*+ Chronos Crypto* Thanks much. Subscribed.
Chronos Crypto (9 months ago)
You're right, a few things have changed. I suggest following the onscreen instructions. :)
Red Pill Rage (9 months ago)
*+ Chronos Crypto* Just one more thing. The Bitshares wallet 'create account' process is different now. Your password is generated by the website. It is a very long alpha-numeric code that you have to copy down and confirm by typing it. Also, there is no backup option that I can find. It's all very confusing and unintuitive. It's especially hard for me because I'm new at this. Any suggestions?
cheekyoziechick (9 months ago)
Why did it give me a 'Generated password'? My page looks nothing like your page. Different all together.
Paul (8 months ago)
I noticed the same thing with the bitshares wallet, and looking into openledger wallet instead.
Bullion Money (9 months ago)
Bitshares is not in the supported list https://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-faq/overview.html#which-coins-are-currently-supported
Bullion Money (9 months ago)
Wait what. Trezzor can hold Bitshares. Get out. awsome. Send me your BTC addy

external wallet.. Trezor.

Trying to login to my Bitshares wallet which I set up in 2014. If I try to restore, and with an external HD, where / how to I find the file I need? Please help. I have BTS that I don't want to lose.
Chronos Crypto (9 months ago)
I think there's a specific file that you're looking for, with a .bin extension. It might be named something like bts_default.bin. You also probably used a passphrase that you'll need to find or remember. Good luck!
P. L (10 months ago)
Thanks, can the password be recovered or once it's lost, it's lost forever?
P. L (10 months ago)
Thanks, what I thought. As much as I love to accumulate bitshares, no luck. I wrote down the password and it's incorrect when I logged in, have about $450 usd worth of BTS. I set up another account and only put 4 BTS in, again password incorrect. Although I am not a techy, I haven't had such big issues with setting up.
Chronos Crypto (10 months ago)
The password cannot be recovered. Consider it a security feature. :)

I am having problem with creating a wallet in bitshares every time i open the page it says failed to synchronize with the api Server. please let me know what to do. i want to transfer bitshares from my bittex account to bitshares wallet.
Chronos Crypto (11 months ago)
Are you still having an issue with this? I think perhaps that sometimes the API server is overloaded, and that retrying or waiting a bit can help.
kniasv (11 months ago)
Same here, I'm missing wallet backup link at the bottom of the wallet, please advice ???
Chronos Crypto (11 months ago)
I created a forum thread to help solve your problem. Maybe this will help: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,25133.0.html
Brodie Saville (11 months ago)
dont invest in this shit bitshares. Their wallet is so bad, u will lose all your funds after you deposit. very buggy wallet. beware!
Ricardo Almeida (10 months ago)
Can you explain better? How to solve this problem, my bitshares keep decreasing.
Chronos Crypto (11 months ago)
Are you sure the problem is with Bitshares itself? You may have had an issue with OPEN tokens, which are the user issued assets of OpenLedger (a private, for-profit company).
Mehedi Hasan (11 months ago)

I've forgotten my bitshares password. I have 1k BTS in my wallet and would greatly appreciate any advice you could provide on how to recover my password

My advice: keep guessing. :-) You can also ask for help at the forums at https://bitsharestalk.org. Good luck!

if we want to referral.. where can we find referral URL Link ?
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
Great question. If you want to benefit this YouTube channel, use this link: https://bitshares.org/wallet/?r=chronos-youtube#/create-account. If you want to refer people with your own account, replace "chronos-youtube" in that link with your own account name.

I have a problem. I've set up a wallet (desktop not browser). But now after a week and after buying some bts, I remebered that i have to make a backup. Now.. maybe i have made a backup at the start when setting up a wallet, but I cant find it now, anyhow.. When i go settings, help, backup, there it says Backups can be obtain from the Wallet Management Console (Settings -> Wallets). but when I go to settings, i dont have wallets! only GeneralAccountsPasswordRestore/ImportAccessso.. i have no clue whatsoever how to make a backup now :(
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
It may be that the desktop version is a little different. I'd recommend that you post on the forums at https://bitsharestalk.org. We have a fair number of desktop users there who could help out. Good luck!

Can you purchase BTS shares and store them in this wallet, I tried to buy BTS through shapeshift but the "account name" was invalid..?? is there a hash like number that is associated with the account name..??
jack black (1 year ago)
OK will do....Doh...felt like a homer simpson moment.....!! many thanks..!!
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
Contact ShapeShift support with that issue. I think they might have trouble supporting account names with certain characters in them. Good luck!

forget my password, what to do?
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
Did you back up the wallet? If not, keep guessing... :-O
I’ve setup a wallet model account with bitshares.org, using the chrome browser. Every time I go to bitshares.org, using the chrome browser the site doesn’t recognize me. I’ve used your process for restoring my account, but I shouldn’t have to do this every time. I’m missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
Thanks for the info. This could be helpful for others. I appreciate it!
I think I solve my own problem. I downloaded the bitshares app (Norton Antivirus didn't like it, but I pushed it through) and now it seems to work and recognize me every time. I hope this helps some of you out there.
TitanSilver354 (1 year ago)
I'm confused. The CVC facebook page is saying open a wallet with bitshares.org AND open a wallet on openledger.io.
Paul (8 months ago)
the official bitshares wallet gives you a password, you cant create one yourself. this makes me uncomfortable.
EngineerPrepper (1 year ago)
Im confused about that too. If you figure it out ..PM me and vice versa. I too have the CVCoin.
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
They are different options. I prefer the one at https://bitshares.org/wallet because it's the official Bitshares brand, not provided by a separate business. Does that help unconfuse you? :-)

I recently bought some Bitshares on Bittrex, and would like to transfer my BTS to my Bitshares wallet. Bittrex is asking for its memo key and registered acc... where can I find these info in my Bitshares account?
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
I think the "registered account" is your Bitshares account name. Not sure why they would need a memo key for a withdrawal from their exchange. I'd recommend asking them directly. Good luck!
Andreas Grubhofer (1 year ago)
Where do I find my public address of the bitshares wallet? I want to transfer bts from bittrex to my bitshares wallet but I just cant find my public address of this bts wallet haha >.< Or is that true that my publicaddress is the same as my accountname? Cheers! (:
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
No worries, it can certainly be a bit confusing. A Bitshares wallet manages multiple addresses inside it, but I'm pretty sure you just use the account name in such situations.
4exgold (1 year ago)
i'm trying to do the same from Poloniex lol, what is public address i wonder. they should make this clearer on the BTS site!
VIREtaMigraine (1 year ago)
Dear Chronos, Many thanks for your perfect explanations ! May I ask your help : I have the same problem like Arnault when trying to create a wallet with bitshares.org (black page freezing "NOT CONNECTED"). I have explored the forum bitsharestalk.org without any answer. I have tried also openledger.io with the same problem. Then I installed Bitshares 2.0 thanks to the doc bitshares.org/register/ but there is always the same problem (black screen freezing "NOT CONNECTED"). Do you know another way, so that I could create a wallet, in order to buy Bitshares ? I don't want to wait until they have repaired the API... Many thanks in advance for your help and kindest regards, Chantal
Chronos Crypto (1 year ago)
Very good! Glad you got it sorted out.
VIREtaMigraine (1 year ago)
Dear Chronos, Good news : I have been able to open a bitshares wallet with Firefox with the link https://bitshares.org/wallet/?r=chronos-youtube#/create-account Many thanks :-)

The miners are interested in finding a nonce which will create a hash with certain characteristics. Lastly, they have to find a random value that they included in the header, which makes the computed hash over that header a value below a particular target. In other words, they do not have to agree to change the protocol. Though there are a few gold diggers attempting to fill their pockets and certain projects that aren`t viable and shouldn`t be encouraged in any way. For users running a complete node, it is a fairly painless procedure to upgrade the software to the newest version. The process of locating a new block to extend the blockchain is known as mining. Proof-of-Work systems utilize cryptographic hashing algorithms to create the action of mining a block a complicated computation. Our software is totally incompatible with altcoins. Changes and modifications to how that it works need to be approved by consensus and every CPU gets a vote. To start with, it`s essential to realize that hardware wallet users control entirely their private keys. Whether you`re bullish or bearish on Bitcoin Gold, you ought not lose your coins as a result of careless mistakes! On the 1 hand, it may result in making a coin that solves all the pending issues. There`s no currency or digital asset named Bitcoin Core. Bitcoin Cash increases the range of transactions that may be processed per block. You could send any quantity of money, any place in the Earth, almost at no cost. You`ve made some great money already on the market, but you want more. For a wealthy individual, BTC`s price premium may be viewed as a plus. For someone without lots of money, BCH`s low price may look like a great deal for Bitcoin. If you have some concerns about the worth of Bitcoin after all forks, you need to be ready for a drop. The distinction is that not all of these suffer the chain split. The primary problem is Bitcoin imposes a hard limit on the magnitude of a block, the location where transaction information becomes stored. The end result is many straightforward wallets, called SPV wallets and very commonly found on your phone, will be quite confused about which chain is Bitcoin. In Bitcoin, the most important reason is known as the network effect.
