Chronos Crypto hey, if I'm making small transactions like 100/200$ what should I make my fee for electrum to send it? I feel like sometimes they take too much?
hassan murat (10 days ago)
Nice description. Now how should we start transaction through electrum if we dont have funding?
Chronos Crypto (9 days ago)
Electrum is a Bitcoin wallet, so you can't do much without any Bitcoin! :) There are lots of places where you can buy some, such as through a company called Coinbase.

I am confused. Please.

Chronos Crypto Its majestic :) So for long term hodling purposes, is it sufficient to just store the recovery seed on paper? Ive been told to consider setting up a second offline machine and a hardware wallet etc, but the keeping the recovery seed seems secure enough to me. Is this like the same as a paper wallet? Sorry for noob qs

Very informative video! I do have a question, is it ok to have my computer connected to the internet when using Electrum or should I turn it off?
Chronos Crypto (4 months ago)
Well, they each have their own risks. Exchange failure vs malware on your computer. There's no simple answer.
mangobanana (4 months ago)
Chronos Crypto Electrum with internet is still better than leaving bitcoin on an exchange right?
Chronos Crypto (4 months ago)
Turning it off won't help you if you reconnect it later, because any malware can just wait for a connection. Yes, it's more risky to have internet access. A more secure solution would be to use a computer that will never connect to the internet again. For some people, that's worth the inconvenience.

I have some litecoin in electrum ltc that i created using multisig 2 of 3 and I need help creating the other wallet 1 of 3 so I can send the ltc to a cold storage. I can't seem to create the other wallet. is there a way you can help?

Chronos Crypto (5 months ago)
Electrum stores only bitcoin, but many other coin communities have their own versions. For example, https://electrum-ltc.org. Be careful, because evil software can steal your money.

Hi Chronos Crypto, I just purchased some Unobtanium wallet in cryptopia and send the coins to the unobtanium wallet and believe me I checked the receiving address over and over, however my coins never arrived, I will really appreciate any suggestions, thank you
Chronos Crypto (5 months ago)
I haven't worked with Unobtanium before. It sounds difficult to obtain! :) Jokes aside, you can probably look at a block explorer to see if the transaction went through. If it did, it's a problem with your wallet; otherwise, contact Cryptopia support. Good luck! http://lmgtfy.com/?q=unobtanium+block+explorer

Hello there, poster of the video (Chronos Crypto). I just wanted to say that you would have to be very intelligent to be able to type as fast as you do, especially being that fast to visually copy text and type it in as you did. Most people can't type half as fast as you do. You are very smart (brighter than the average person). I envy you, and I wish I had your mind. Well, Happy Holidays, and let the New Year be a prosperous one.
Chronos Crypto (6 months ago)
Thanks for the comment, Bobby. I am probably more intelligent than the average person, but then again, most people would say that about themselves! :) Hope the video was useful to you. Have a great 2018 as well.

Chronos Crypto (6 months ago)
Electrum is just wallet software, not an exchange. To trade your Bitcoin for money, you need to use the services of a company like https://coinbase.com. Good luck!
john wright (6 months ago)
I do want to thank you for that information on the wallet because I was very lost there. As you may tell I am new with this all and there are saying and I quote "you don't need to know anything about bitcoin" yeah right! now I just need a good understanding on how to buy crypto. token and for that I am sure I will be looking forward for your videos
Chronos Crypto (6 months ago)
You don't need to know anything? That sounds like terrible advice! I prefer this quote: "Never invest in a business you cannot understand." --Warren Buffett
Brandon Mochel (6 months ago)
hello, can you help with my electrum wallet not wanting to connect? I have tried everything I could find online about what it says to do; Some have suggested that I try unchecking the auto connect and using a different server and I have tried that several times and nothing changes. Any help is greatly appreciated
Brandon Mochel (6 months ago)
Was able to get it, seems to just be a common issue and u just have to keep trying to reconnect over and over and eventually it will connect
Chronos Crypto (6 months ago)
I’m not sure, but it could be your Windows firewall or local network configuration. If you have the ability to try it from another location, or another computer, that could help narrow down the problem. Good luck!

I like the video, and I love the keyboard. Where'd you get it? I love the old clackitty keyboards. Anyway, I watched another video where it said to do all this we should be doing it on a Linux box, or on Windows logged out of administrator, using Veracrypt to encrypt everything (I use that for other stuff)and so forth. It made it seem like it's so unsafe to do all this that you have to be super vigilant to not get hacked. I've been following bitcoin for a while, but held back buying it till recently. So, that's a little daunting. I'm going to get the Trezor at some point. Any suggestions for altcoins like Ripple?
Chronos Crypto (7 months ago)
One suggestion for altcoins: use paper wallets when possible. It keeps things simple.
Chronos Crypto (7 months ago)
You can always be a little more crazy and be a little more secure, but nothing is perfectly safe. Even if you take every precaution to prevent hackers from stealing your bitcoin, you can still die of cancer!

How do you store coins other than bitcoin on electrum?
Chronos Crypto (7 months ago)
Electrum is only designed to store Bitcoin. Many other communities have made their own versions of Electrum that work with their alternative crypto coins, but they are separate pieces of software.

Electrum keeps changing my receiving address. Should I use the new one? or the old one? What is the difference and why does this matter. Thanks -Cheers
hippo potamus (7 months ago)
Makes sense. Thanks for the reply. Very useful video btw. -Cheers mate.
Chronos Crypto (7 months ago)
Good question. Electrum shows a new receiving address each time you use one. You can use the new one each time, which helps to keep payers from peeking at your address on the blockchain and seeing your old transaction history. Your wallet has an unlimited number of addresses, so I don't think you'll run out.
Hasti Dorafshan (7 months ago)
could you please help me out, i bought a coin and now it disappeared in my wallet, how can i find my coin back?
Hasti Dorafshan (7 months ago)
when i bought the coin it was visible in my electrum, but then i forgot my password and i restored my wallet with the seed, since then i can not see my coins. thank you very much
Chronos Crypto (7 months ago)
If your transaction history shows the coin arriving in the wallet, and then being sent out, then somebody sent it. If it wasn't you, then it's possible you have a virus. If the transaction history doesn't show the coin ever arriving, then check with the sender to make sure they sent the coin to the proper address. You can also use a block explorer such as https://blockchain.info to search for the address and see if the coin was sent. Hope this helps!

Sarah Paulus (7 months ago)
Hi managed to do everything in your video, however my network shows a red button, not green like yours. What could be the problem?
Chronos Crypto (7 months ago)
One user had to fiddle with the settings on their anti-virus software and the Windows Firewall to get the connection to work. You have to white list "electrum.exe" or something similar on your antivirus/firewall.
Sarah Paulus (7 months ago)
Chronos Crypto hi it does not help, I tried several times, even restarting the computer. what other wallet can I use. something for beginners?
Chronos Crypto (7 months ago)
It sounds like your software is not successfully connected to a node on the network. Does restarting the application solve the problem?
tdan89 (7 months ago)
Excelent tutorial!
Jill Pflugheber (8 months ago)
This makes it sound so easy. How about an explanation of transaction fees? I used dynamic fee, and when I sent it, it said it was a low fee AFTER I sent the transaction. I tried three times to increase the fee--now I don't see that option, but I can tell the fee is still too low. BTC transfer has been working now about 14 hours, and based on the link someone provided below, it will never transfer. How do I increase the fee to get my BTC transfered now that it does not give me the option? If I cannot increase the fee, will by transaction eventually be rejected, or will my BTC be stuck in limbo forever? Thanks.

Hi sir, i think every OS is slight different. For years I couldn't figure out how to relaunch the GUI part of electrum wallet. Chronos Crypto (8 months ago)
The bitcoin network can get a bit backlogged at times, so waiting might solve the problem. You can also look at a block explorer like https://blockchain.info to search for your receiving address and see if a transaction is pending into your Electrum wallet. I think you'll be fine. Good luck!
Yafes Doski (8 months ago)
Hello my electrum wallet appears offline..i using it for UNO coin. and i dont know what to do in order to switch it on.
Chronos Crypto (8 months ago)
Electrum doesn't support UNO coin, so it sounds like you have a similar-looking wallet that was specially designed for UNO. You'll probably need to reach out to their developers and community solve that issue. Good luck!

Google can tell you! Just search for "1 BTC to USD" to get a pretty good value conversion rate. You can also convert value in the other direction, from USD to BTC.

Great videos man! I wonder, is it possible to have my electrum wallet on two different computer? so I can access the same account not only for one place?
Chronos Crypto (8 months ago)
If you use "Restore a wallet" on the second computer, and use the same seed words, then the wallet is in both places. Spending the coin from either computer would also move it from the other. Pretty cool, eh?
alex stellabella (9 months ago)
WTF am i the only one to have a problem with 13 words seed??? i explaine one year ago i've made a wallet that gave me a 13 words seed now im trying to restore it but it ask me for 12 words seed...how can i do??

13 words is a legal wallet format for Electrum. The program should accept it. Searching online might reveal more info. Good luck!

The miners are interested in finding a nonce which will create a hash with certain characteristics. Lastly, they have to find a random value that they included in the header, which makes the computed hash over that header a value below a particular target.
