321 ratings | 11554 views
My top books for learning technical analysis. Several of you have asked me for books I would recommend. There are many great ones so narrowing it down to 5 was no easy task but here are my top choices for those wanting to learn TA. 1. How To Make Money In Stocks - O'Neil 2. Volume Price Analysis - Coulling 3. Japanese Candlestick Charting - Nison 4. Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets - Murphy 5. Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns - Bulkowski Technical Analysis for Cryptocurrencies Video Course: https://nodeinvestor.com/training/ Follow me on Twitter @nodeinvestor

Good book review - I traded stock in the mid to 90's up till 2000 and been out ever since. the firts book I read was How to make money in stocks, great foundation. Then Pring's technical analysis book. I'm now looking for a good charting service, i set my perameters of price and volume breaks etc... the old Telescan which I used is now changed... any feedback or opion on good charting and search services ?

Thanks for the recommendations! Needed a couple of these since there are so many books out there. Hard to tell which are actually good or not. Would you happen to have any extra for in-depth explanation of the Elliot Wave principle?

What about "Trend Following: How to Make a Fortune in Bull, Bear, and Black Swan Markets" "The Complete TurtleTrader: How 23 Novice Investors Became Overnight Millionaires" I was considering buying one of those. Have you read them or have any thoughts about them? Thanks
Node Investor (8 months ago)
I'm familiar with the Turtle Trader but not he first one. I would recommend it but its more about the disciplines and day trading approach rather than the TA.

Hey man, love your videos, you could have considered using referral links for Amazon or what not to earn some free dollar. It doesn't cost us extra and you get a little bit for your effort. I've read some of these but will order the others now. Would you consider doing a video on how you keep track of trades/profits like excel sheet templates etc you use? Take profit/cut losses something like that? I'm really interested in seeing how you organise. Thanks again.

Never heard of any of these books. Not sure, whether technical analysis is even worth investing so much time into. I think at the end of the day, people trade based on their emotions. The indicators might be lined up perfectly for a rise or fall, but there are so many influences on people to ether buy or sell that the opposite is almost as likely to happen. Not to mention, that a whale(especially in lower volume cryptos) can just feel like selling/buying and all predictions are worthless. I'm curious if someone has a counter argument. Speaking of books a just received a book called "Adaptive Markets: Financial Evolution at the Speed of Thought". Might be worth checking out.

What you said is absolutely right, people trade based on their emotions.  Technical analysis is, to simplify it, the reading and predicting of those emotions.

The miners are interested in finding a nonce which will create a hash with certain characteristics. Lastly, they have to find a random value that they included in the header, which makes the computed hash over that header a value below a particular target.
